OYO Andover is situated on the Fairground which fronts the A342 Weyhill Road to the west of Andover.  The land at the Fairground was formerly home to The Weyhill Fair which dated back to the 13th Century and was once the largest and most important sheep fair in the country. Other livestock and produce were also sold and the Fair was also the place for the annual hiring of farm workers and, in its heyday, it even included a pleasure fair, boxing booth and other entertainments.  After the demise of the Fair in 1959, the site was used for agricultural purposes. By 1980 having fallen into disuse, Test Valley Borough Council decided to promote the 16 acre site for light industrial development but the local parish council, wishing to capitalise on the site’s heritage, successfully promoted an alternative policy for the part commercial, part housing and part heritage mix of uses seen today.

The Fairground is situated only about 1 mile from the A303 dual carriageway which connects to the M3 at Junction 8, in turn providing access to Basingstoke (22 miles), the M25 (47 miles) and London (67 miles). The A303 also provides direct access to the South West. The A34 north-south arterial route is situated 7 miles to the east providing good access to Newbury (24 miles) and Oxford (44 miles) to the north, and Winchester (15 miles) and Southampton (30 miles) to the south.
